The character on the seal is also shown on the left side of the envelope. Christina asks readers for information on this character.

  • "Round the World Christmas Covers" by Richard Beecher, CPC #987... illustrates and describes two registered covers from British Commonwealth countries. A cover mailed from Australia to the USA bears two different kinds of registration markings and the back of the covers shows two different dispatch marks as well as two different receiving marks. A second cover mailed in 1970 from St. John, Antigua also shows two different registration markings.

Lehmann, CPC #742 ...illustrations of a FDC of the 1946 United States national seal and a cover postmarked Santa Claus, IN Dec. 25, 1946 with a block of four imperforate seals tied on cover. Douglas tells us the background of these covers made by Charles Lorenz for a small circle of seal collector friends.
