Feature Articles
Creating
Christmas Cachets....a series of interviews of contemporary cachet makers...
by Tom Neufer Emswiler . . . The truly great
cachet makers are passionately involved in what they do. Tom sensed this passion
especially alive in Doris Gold, whom he recently interviewed. Doris was chosen by the
AFDCS to be one of their Court of Honor cachet makers in 1994 to do the cachet for the
Christmas stamp that was released in Harmony, Minnesota (site of CPC's 25th anniversary
celebration). Several other cachet designs are discussed and illustrated as well. A list
of Doris Gold Christmas issues is included.
Christmas Stamp
Stories - Snoopy Celebrates Christmas . . . by Pastor
Wilmer Bloy, CPC #1363 . . . Paster Bloy describes and illustrates the story of
Gibraltar's 2003 Christmas issue showing the much loved characters from the Peanuts
cartoon.
"Italy Sends
Christmas Greetings Philatelically". . . by Richard L. Beecher, CPC #987. Richard illustrates
three covers showing how Italy recognizes the Christmas holiday. The first shows a meter
slogan; a second is a Christmas aerogramme; and the third a view card mailed with the 1977
Christmas issue showing the Adoration of the Shepherds.
