"A Christmas Stamp Ends Up in Court"...
Donne E. Puckle, CPC #230, describes the suit
launched in 1967 by the organization 'Protestants and other Americans United for
Separation of Church and State,' against the Postmaster General. The organization
contended that the issuance of the Madonna and Child stamp was against the separation
clause in the Consititution.
"A Splendid Eighty-Year-Old Christmas
Card"...Ken Lawrence illustrates a 1917 Christmas post card bearing a 5-cent red
George Washington error stamp and a 1917 Red Cross Christmas and New Year charity seal.
Ken describes how the 5-cent error stamp came about and some of the expertising problems
involved in obtaining an APEX certificate for the item.

'Round the World Christmas Covers...Richard
Beecher, CPC #987, illustrates an overpaid cover (by one penny) sent by certified mail
from the government offices of Pohnpei in the Federated States of Micronesia to another
government office in Yap. Overpaid by one penny, the cover bears four 1996 Christmas
stamps and three five cents definitives.
Christmas Philatelic Club Auction - Mary Turner and Richard Sartor describe 131 lots
of Christmas philatelic material. Many lots are illustrated. The auction includes souvenir
sheets, worldwide stamps, Postal Stationery, Santa Reply Letters, Seals, Meters and
Miscellaneous Christmas items.
