Designer: Lou Nolan" by Kim Frankenhoff...designer of several stamps for the
US postal service including 1992 Christmas Toys issue and the stocking design of 1994.
"A Cover for
Toy Fans" by Christina
Howland-Stitt ... illustrates and describes the 1997 Christmas in October postmark
from Sacramento, CA.
"Round the
World Christmas Covers" by Richard Beecher, CPC #987... illustrates and
discusses two covers from his collection: a Burundi airletter with an added Merry
Christmas cachet and an airletter from Ghana with a cachet depicting children and toys
with a Christmas and New Years greeting.
"Bob's
Column" by Robert A.
Haslewood, CPC #860 . . . illustrates a folded letter from Manchester, England franked
with a Penny Black, backstamped with red colored Manchester postmark and a black colored
circular Dec. 25, 1840 receiver postmark. Also shown is a rare Georgetown, Prince Edward
Island cover backstamped with a black cirular PEI Dec. 25, 1863 postmark. Other Christmas
related postmarks are shown that have errors.
"Santa and
His Reindeer -- Who Needs Snow?" by Christina
Howland-Stitt ...a 'Coffee Pot Card' depicts Santa in a jeep towing a sleigh laden
with toys moving through the Saudi Arabian desert.
"2000 Parade
of Christmas Stamps" by Christina
Howland-Stitt ... lists of worldwide Christmas stamps issued at Christmas 2000 along
with design description and Scott numbers.
