Places of personal significance can be just as important to the client
as figurative commissions, and I make each place that I paint as unique
as possible. In the past, I have incorporated materials found at the
sites of places of significance into the paint layers to maintain
a close connection. My process is much the same as with other commissions,
in that I will aim for a realistic reproduction of the details of
the site, but add subjective layers of colour and texture to give
the work an emotional edge.
