Lessons

    Marie Bastien is the owner, instructor, and operator.  Having one person in charge allows us to excel past the other schools, it is our cosistency in our lesson program that permits us top placings in the competition ring.  Marie has been coaching since 1995, producing top riders year after year.  Whether you ride for fun or competition, our goal is to help you be the best you can be!  After all you deserve it!  All our school horses are trained by Marie and given the proper foundation and experience to help any rider excel.  Our success as a school is based on the principal that a happy horse, will be a  successful horse.  Our horses are limited in the number of lesson they are allowed to teach and each horse enjoys their lesson times.  Our horses are kept in a relaxed atmosphere and live outside with another buddy. 

    We offer year round riding with our well drained lit outdoor sandring, bright indoor arena with mirrors.   All our lessons are private lessons.  We will occasionally offer extra group jumping lesson leading up to show season to prepare riders for what they will experience in the show ring.  We have some students who wish to show and we attend schooling, trillium shows with them.  We are a very open barn and those who do not wish to show are not pushed to show.

Private lessons are $45 for 1 hour or $35 for 45 minutes. 

Lunge Line lessons are available for children 5 and up at a cost of $25 for a half hour. 

We also offer lesson every second Friday night for those cannot commit to a weekly lesson.

    We use only the best behaved horses in our lesson programs.  They are limited in the amount of work they are allowed to do in a week.   This still allows them two days off to be horses.

    Here are our current school horses.

Moon Mist is  a reg. Arab mare standing 15hh.  She is a very quiet mare, who attends shows with students in hunter and dressage.  Everyone who comes to Rosewood Stable starts on Moon Mist.  She was Reserve Champ in Hunter twice in one season out of 4 shows and received scores of 64% in dressage training level.  Misty also competes at Trillium level in dressage.  Misty competes most weekends in dressage and hunter shows.  She has many ribbons under her belt and year end awards.  Misty is also used to give younger children lunge line lessons.  Visit our show results page to get all the details on her successes.  She was trained by Marie and has been in our program since 2000.

Mister Personality is a homebred Canadian Warmblood gelding.  This handsome gelding is a dark bay with 3 white socks and an irregular blaze.  He has 3 beautiful gaits.  Steady beautiful canter, floaty trot and a long flowing walk.  His sire is the amazing youngster Oskar K,  Oskar has excelled in the dressage ring since being backed.  Mister is following in his father's hoof prints and winning in dressage with scores as high at 80%.  He will continue his show career next year at Gold and Silver dressage shows and some schooling hunter shows.  He is available for lessons to our competitive show riders.
