Transparent Woman
Modeled on an actual woman, a German anatomist constructed this model to display the internal structure of the human body. Visitors can rotate the model and light-up specific organs and systems.

Undated postcard from the museum.

The Talking Transparent Woman is a permanent feature of the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, Portland, Oregon.  This transparent woman, which cost $12,500, is a living lesson in human physiology.  Within her are several hundred feet of lighting cable and 30 tiny light bulbs showing every organ and detail of her figure in anatomically correct color, position and dimension.
